Centrica PLC relationship
Centrica Storage Limited is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Centrica plc. It is legally, financially and physically separate from all other Centrica businesses.
The separation arrangements were agreed in the Undertakings given by Centrica and Centrica Storage to the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in 2003. The Undertakings have since been varied in 2005, 2012 and 2016.
Our commercial team is separated from those parts of Centrica that deal in gas supply, gas shipping, trading and storage procurement. Our Code of Conduct prohibits the disclosure of commercially sensitive information by Centrica Storage to other parts of Centrica. The Code of Conduct was also revised as part of the review.
Centrica acquired the Rough gas storage facility in November 2002. The acquisition was the subject of a Competition Commission inquiry.
The Undertakings were varied in 2012 and 2015 following reviews by the Competition Commission / CMA. The final reports are provided below

Compliance with the Gas Act 1986
In addition to the Undertakings, Section 8R of the Gas Act 1986 (as amended) requires that Centrica Storage publish an annual report setting out the compliance arrangements Centrica Plc and Centrica Storage Limited have in place to:
maintain its independence from other parts of the Centrica Group engaged in gas production, supply, shipping or selling; and
- manage, and appropriately disclose, commercially sensitive information
