Consultation to amend the SSC to allow for Multiple Storage Services

On 11 April 2008, CSL announced its intention to consult on amending the Storage Services Contract (SSC) to enable the Provision of Multiple Storage Services within the SSC. The Consultation was launched on 6 May 2008.

The SSC consultation process is set out in Annex 1 of the Undertakings. CSL consulted on SSC modification 4 for 1 calendar month (6th June 2008). Based on the consultation responses received and customer feedback at the industry workshop and subsequent meetings CSL submitted an Application to Ofgem on the 9th June 2008 to approve the changes to the SSC.

Ofgem formally responded to the Consultation Paper on the 8th July 2008 consenting to the proposed modifications to the SSC.

Some minor legal drafting changes were identified in the Ofgem letter and these are highlighted in the marked up SSC below.

Accordingly from 8th July 2008 the SSC has been formally amended and CSL are able to offer multiple storage services under this contract.
